Art Description
As a student learning anatomy, the overwhelming feeling of memorizing minute details of bones, muscles, nerves and blood vessels can obscure the beauty of a functioning human body. When I think of what lies beneath the skin, when I feel what lies beneath the skin, I visualize a whole intertwined network of vessels. Putting imagery to these systems and comparing them to the real world allows me to recognize the importance of individual segments and their contribution to the overall body in homeostasis. My focus here was to highlight the vasculature and lymphatic system working together even though they are separate entities.Artist: Shivani Kamal, SOMA
