As I was reflecting on how I wanted to write my personal statement for residency, I was reading through some old things I had written over the years. I came across this piece that I had written before I even knew what Osteopathic Medicine was and smiled at the underlying principles it shared with the field I am about to enter.

My name is Melanie Biegler and I am a 4th year osteopathic medical school at ATSU-SOMA excited to pursue the field of family medicine in the very near future. I am originally from the Chicago area and have been enjoying calling Cincinnati home during my clinical rotations. I keep a journal if I just so happen have something to write down and enjoy painting and sketching if something happens to inspire me that day. But usually learning medicine is my art.
