Art Description
This quilt was a sample I made for a class I taught at the Kirksville Arts Association. The fabrics were selected from my stash, and chosen to coordinate with the focus fabric of butterflies in jewel tones. I used free motion quilting and rulerwork to create the very detailed threadwork with swirls, flowers, and straight-line stitching to represent the lives of butterflies in nature.

I am the Director of Admissions (Missouri), and have worked at ATSU for 11+ years. I am happily married for nearly 30 years and the mom of two adult sons. I am a passionate quilter and have won several awards for my quilts over the years. I love any type of fabric, and all quilts I make have a story to them. I am also a long-arm quilter, so the final quilting process is done through free motion sewing on a long-arm frame with my Gammill Vision 2.0 quilting machine. The process of sewing is something my Grandma and mother (also quilters) instilled in me at a young age, and is my mode of choice for expressing myself and relieving stress.
