Grades

CGHS requires instructors to post all student grades within 96 hours of the due date. All assignments and final discussion forum posts are due on Sunday of each week, therefore all grades should be in the Gradebook by 11:59 pm the following Thursday.

All assignments should have a rubric.  These rubrics assist the students in understanding the specific grading criteria for the assignment, and should be examined thoroughly before starting any assignment.  All rubrics at CGHS should be used for grading.  Instructors can enter the grade directly in the rubric, along with any feedback. Once they save the grade, you can see both the grade and the feedback in the Grades link.

Grading Scale

All CGHS courses have 1,000 points, making it easy to calculate your course grade. It's also easy to calculate the weight of each assignment in your course; if an assignment is worth 50 points, it's 5% of your overall grade.

The same grading scale is used for all courses:

  • A = 90-100% (900 - 1,000 points)
  • B = 80-89% (800 - 899.9 points)
  • C = 70-79% (700 - 799.9 points)
  • F = 0-69% (0 - 699.9 points)
  • There is no D grade at CGHS.

Grades are not rounded - by assignment or cumulatively. If you receive a total of 899 points in a course, your final grade will be a B (89.9%).
