This poem draws from important themes discussed in my ATSU classes more so than the institutional mission and specifically addresses how healing and prevention have been usurped as the primary aims of health care and public health, respectively. Commentary on health disparities, corporate profit-making, systemic racism, misinformation, and the indifference towards vulnerable populations is intertwined throughout the verses.
