Missouri Fire, Emergency & Tornado Procedures

Fire Drill & Emergency Information

The ATSU community is notified of fires and fire alarms by both an alarm bell and by the ATSU Emergency Notification System, RAVE. Sign up for RAVE to receive all notices directly.

Tornado Information

The ATSU community is notified of tornado drills, warnings and watches by both a siren and by the ATSU Emergency Notification System, RAVE. Sign up for RAVE to receive all notices directly.

Tornado Evacuation Location

For tornado situations, go to the Basement and shelter-in-place in the entrance to the hallway to the Welch Recording studio. Avoid any room with an outside door or window. The shelter location on the map is labeled with a red tornado icon.

  • If you are unable to access the Basement stairs, seek shelter in the restrooms in the far front of each floor of the Library or another windowless closed space away from any bookshelves.

Library staff will direct you to the shelter location. If Library staff tell you that there is a tornado situation, you must accompany them immediately.

Missouri Lost & Found

The library keeps lost items turned in or found in the Library at the Desk for a period of time. If the item is valuable, it is turned over to the Missouri Campus Security Office. Valuable items are not kept in the Library.

The library provides seven group and individual study rooms for use by students, as well as an assortment of tables, other individual study spaces, quiet spaces, study carrels, OMT practice tables, and other spaces.

Missouri Library Room Details

The Missouri library branch provides a number of spaces for student, faculty and visitor use.

Note: There are numerous other study spaces in close proximity to the library managed by other departments - more than 24 additional study rooms, open seating, etc. For assistance locating them, ask at the library desk.
