Finding Books in the Library Catalog

To search our book catalog, use the eBooks search tab on the library homepage, or click on the "Library Book Catalog" link under Research Tools on the library homepage.

This search is limited to ebooks and print books held by the library. You can easily tell if a book is an ebook or print book by looking at the label to the left of each search result in the catalog.

Note: the majority of our print books are held in the MO campus. If you are at our AZ campus and would like a book from the MO campus, you may request the book via interlibrary loan.

Program Toolkits and LibGuides

Our most popular books are the textbooks that the library is able to provide for many courses. If the library is able to provide a textbook for your course, you will find a direct link to the book on your program toolkit, accessible from the library homepage. Note that the library is not able to provide every textbook for every course.

In addition, our LibGuides on various topics curate books specific to those topics, and can be a great way to get a short list of relevant books we provide on a given topic.

Print Books

The majority of our print books are held in the MO campus library, although the AZ and CA campuses maintain a small collection of print books available for checkout. If you would like to check out. If you are a student at the AZ campus and want to check out a book from the MO campus, just send us an ILL request and you can pick up the book in the AZ campus library.

In addition, each campus provides textbook reserves, where on-campus students can check out print copies of their textbooks for up to 4 hours at a time. Textbook reserves are available from 8 am to 5pm, Mondays through Fridays. To learn more about what textbooks we have on reserve at each campus, please see our Textbook Reserves LibGuide.

eBook FAQs

Why don't all the ebooks look the same?

We get our eBooks from several different vendors and platforms that use different interfaces. Different textbooks may require getting used to a couple of different interfaces. This specific interface does not affect the content of the book or your ability to access it.

Why does this eBook say too many people are trying to access it at the same time?

Due to differences in vendors, publishers, and pricing, some of our eBooks have limits on how many people can use a book at the same time. If you run into this, try waiting 30 minutes and accessing the book again. Always be sure to close an eBook when you are done with it to ensure others are able to use the book. If you are frequently encountering this issue, let your liaison librarian know so we can look into the issue further.

What if I want a book that the library doesn't provide?

If you are at the MO or AZ campuses, you can request print books via interlibrary loan for free. If you would like to request the library purchase an ebook, please contact your liaison librarian. While we may not be able to purchase all requested books, we do seriously consider all purchase requests.
