Join via Zoom | 432-325-1597
In this interactive session, participants will receive an overview of the Scholarship of Teaching (SoTL) Research Process, focusing on SoTL research topics while addressing common research approaches. The session will distinguish SoTL research from other types of research. A broad introduction to methods for data collection and analysis will also be included.
Participants will be able to explain the initial process for the Scholarship of Teaching and articulate how to begin planning a study along with knowledge of how to identify SoTL studies.
Live Session: "Getting Started—SoTL Topics and Questions"
Mesa Campus, Mesquite | 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. AZ time

Join via Zoom | 432-325-1597
In this Webinar, participants will review various forms of topics and questions SoTL researchers often investigate. Dr. Major will provide details of specific studies, drawing attention to how researchers carried out the studies they envisioned. Topics such as where and how to find research studies related to specific areas of interest will be covered in order to provide important context to each participant's SoTL research plan.
Homework: Complete the associated On-Demand module (will be released before session #2)
Homework module compliments session #2 and prepares faculty to participate in upcoming Working Workshop.
Interactive module takes participants through a series of questions to help them create the following deliverables to bring to the working workshop.
After the session, participants should plan to write up the following (no more than 2 pages total):
Live Working Session: "SoTL Research: Getting Started/Formulating Your Research Questions"
Join via Zoom | 432-325-1597 | 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. AZ time
Open to SoTL Scholars' Development Series participants only
This will be a working session. Participants should bring their write-ups to the session and plan to present in 1-2 minutes a description of their topics and questions.
Participants will work together as a group with Dr. Major to ensure that all SoTL research questions are answerable and to discuss how they fill a gap in the current literature.
Live On Site Session: "SoTL Research: Research Design/Methods and Data Collection"
