The Library is pleased to launch its new ATSU app created to provide our students in their clinical rotations quick access to evidence/information at the point of care. Since the mid-1990’s with the emergence of the Internet an evidence-based model of practice has emerged and developed. With this app we are trying to facilitate for our students on clinical rotations the access and use of evidence at the point of care. Our focus is providing access to Library resources which provide answers to specific clinical questions which emerge while treating patients.
For in depth research we still recommend using our Still OneSearch tool on the Libraries main web site. Hal Bright presents an overview of the new app in this newsletter. I invite you to give us feedback on the usefulness of the app and on any additional resources you think we should add to it.
We have also added several major additions to our collections which Hal is describing in our New Resources page. These include the return to our collection Essential EvidencePlus with InfoPoems and four major journal collections.
Hal Bright, our Electronic Resources Librarian has been promoted to the Branch manager for the Arizona Library Branch. He also continues in his role as Electronic Resources Librarian.
Finally in this edition of Check-It-Out we are introducing the newest member of our Library Staff. Vito Tedeschi, our Library Assistant in our Arizona Branch. Vito will continue to provide the outstanding document delivery/interlibrary loan service you have become used to as well as assist in room booking, laminating and poster printing. If you are on the Arizona campus and have not met him drop by and introduce yourself.
