Book Appointments

Appointments are REQUIRED to be able to borrow or return a table.  You can book them here: Appointment Page for Library OMM Tables  At this time, appointments are available Monday through Thursday.  Beginning February 4th, they will be available on Tuesdays or Thursdays.

Current Status of OMM Table Lending

The Library is now offering group loans to Batches. How that works:

  1. Each Batch Group chooses a table leader
  2. The table leader updates the Batch Group spreadsheet with their name
  3. The table leader makes an appointment with the Library
  4. The table leader picks up the table during their appointment
  5. The Batch now has a table to share until the end of term

The first three weeks of each term after you are back on campus will be reserved for Batch Group term-length loan checkouts only.

Individual Loans will resume February 4th.  Individuals may borrow any available table for one week, with one additional week's renewal possible if there is no waiting list for tables.

If a Batch group decides after the first three weeks that it would like to borrow a table for the term, it may still do so, but will have to wait for the next table to be returned and quarantined for 72 hours.

OMM Table Lending

In the interests of safety and equity, the Library is shifting to a new policy of lending tables to batches this year. Each batch group of students may choose to have one table on loan to the entire included group of students for the term.

PROCESS

Procedures are nearly identical for borrowing and returning a table:

  1. Batch volunteers make an appointment with the library to pick up your table
  2. Each appointment is 10 minutes long in order to ensure that students can easily avoid each other
  3. Please be courteous to your library staff and peers and arrive at the beginning of your appointment slot
  4. Come to the library door on the ground floor of Connell Information Technology Center with your picture ID. The doors are locked, but staff will be waiting for you.

The first three weeks of the on-campus term will be reserved for batch group term-length loans. After that point, both batch groups (term-length) and individuals (one week) may borrow tables.

Batch Volunteers

The OMM Department will identify one volunteer from each batch.  The volunteer, or table leader, will add their names to the Batch Group spreadsheet here. This person will be responsible for picking up the table for the entire batch and will have it formally checked out to them, but the entire batch is responsible for it.

Pick Up

  1. The Library will hold pick up days with 10 minute appointment slots available
  2. A batch volunteer will make an appointment and come to the library's door inside of the CITC building
  3. The library staff will handle the tables wearing masks and gloves
  4. The volunteer will take the table away to the batch
  5. Each batch will have the table on loan until one week after final exams

Return

  1. The library will hold Return days with 15 minute appointment blocks
  2. The batch will make an appointment to return its table
  3. One member will bring the table to the library door inside of the CITC building
  4. The batch member will open the table up and wipe it down in front of the library staff
  5. The library staff will take the table away to quarantine for 72 hours before returning it to storage

Batch Responsibilities

  • Each batch is responsible for managing and housing the table both safely and equitably among members
  • Each member of each batch is equally responsible for the table

Table Disinfection

  • Before and after use, wipe it down with lysol wipes or a paper towel with non-bleach disinfectant sprayed on it
  • Do not spray directly onto the table
  • If the table is exposed to an infected person or someone with unknown status, quarantine it standing open in a room by itself for at least 72 hours

Tables will be loaned to individuals for one week. Renewal may be possible upon request.  Individual table loans will begin after the first three weeks of on-campus term.
