Zoom is the video conferencing software that is supported by ATSU Information Technology Services. Although Zoom is free for students and non-ATSU members, ITS provides a Zoom Pro account for all Faculty and Staff. With Zoom you can: set up and record a video chat, record your desktop, remote control another computer, annotate on a shared screen, or set up a live greenscreen backdrop. Zoom also offers live polling.
Google's video chat comes with your ATSU email. Although the video quality of Google Hangouts video chatting tends to be better than Skype's we still believe that Zoom is the best video conferencing software.
Skype is a free software that allows you to make phone and video calls. Although Skype's video quality and features are not as robust as Zoom or Google Hangouts, it is often the best conference software for international calls because it has such high name recognition. Skype works best as a telephone alternative.
TeamViewer allows for remote control of computers. Since Teamviewer allows you to share your desktop, it also works well for online collaborative meetings or presentations. Teamviewer supports a whiteboard for meetings as well as secure file transfer during meetings.
