Ficus is a special projects room with various technology. It has a 3D scanner, OsiriX software, SPSS Statistical software, and a self-editing station. This room is open to all faculty, staff, and students.
The room requires advanced reservations with Library staff. You may reserve online in 2 hour intervalsor at the Library front desk. Any use of Ficus not approved by Library Staff is strictly prohibited.
Library staff are not experts in using any of the equipment or software. It is your responsibility to train yourself. We have provided a number of tutorials for you to learn from prior to using the room.
Our 3D scanner uses NextEngine. This software allows you to scan, align, polish, and fuse 3D models. These 3D files can then be printed at the Missouri campus and shipped to AZ.
OsiriX is software used to view images produced by radiology equipment, such as MRI, CT, and Ultrasounds. Its key features are displaying, reviewing, interpreting, and post-processing the images. Images can be turned into 3D files and printed at the Missouri campus.
The self-editing station allows you to edit videos using Camtasia. Camtasia is a simple-to-use screen recorder and video editor. To request access to the Assets Library of copyright-free music, opening titles, and lower thirds, fill out this form.
