There are two sources of data: primary and secondary. Primary sources of data are data gathered directly by the researcher, including surveys/questionnaires, interviews, observations, and biophysical measurements (e.g., heart rate, blood pressure, weight, muscular strength). Secondary sources of data are existing data available through databases, such as "health-related data [collected] through the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and the U.S. Bureau of the Census..."
