Medical school curricula are often lacking when it comes to women’s and LGBT health in general. The only woman-specific information is generally contained in the reproductive health sequences, and these are often too short and don’t contain enough information about contraception or family planning. Comprehensive, evidence-based curriculum designed and updated in collaboration with a faculty of extensively trained adolescent medicine physicians with a shared goal of educating youth-serving professionals in best practices for adolescent reproductive and sexual health.

Medical schools face a variety of challenges in creating safe, welcoming and nurturing environments for sexual and gender minority students, including those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or gender nonconforming. Realizing that each institution’s context is unique, this webinar will provide an overview of methods and resources institutional leaders can use to improve the climate at their institution for students of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and forms of gender expression.
