New Library checkout system

The Arizona branch is moving away from a paper check out system, to a digital one.  You will now get automatic emails when items are due back.  Simply email us to renew any materials.

If you currently have any library material in your office you are no longer using, we ask that you return it to the front desk.  If you have items but wish to continue using them, let us know and we will check it out in our new system.

New PubMed

You might have already noticed, but the PubMed interface has been updated.  It is expected that the new interface will become the default in the spring of 2020.

The new PubMed offers a clean, easy-to-use site, and was designed from the ground up to be mobile-friendly. The new PubMed interface was built using modern web standards, with a responsive layout, making it easier for new users on any type of device to find what they’re looking for.

Besides an interface update, behind the scenes updates also occurred with the way information is retrieved.  The improved Best Match sort order uses a machine learning algorithm to help elevate the most relevant articles to the top of your results list. Improved citation and title sensors are built into the search box, making it even easier to find an article based on known citation information.

While it may look different, the new PubMed includes the features you rely on, and gives you access to the same bibliographic data. The new PubMed includes the key features that have long been a part of PubMed, including:

  • customizable filters to help you narrow your search,
  • tools to save and share your search results,
  • an Advanced Search Builder that lets you search for terms in a specific field, see how your search is being translated, and review your search history; and,
  • options to set up e-mail alerts to be notified when new results are available.

New APA Publication Manual

The APA Publication Manual is now in it's 7th edition.
