2020 Institute

2020 Institute Dates:

The onsite institute is CANCELED for 2020

 

Institute  includes 5 weeks of class discussions and 1 assignment prior to the on-site event. You will log in to your class just like any other class on the first day of the block.

KINE 5006 is offered each FB1 and is recommended during your first year of the program. It includes a 4 day, on-site Institute that will take place in Mesa, Arizona as well as 5 weeks of online classroom work.  You are required to attend, so mark you calendars now.

Institute check in time: Monday, August 10th between 11-11:30am.

Institute end time: Thursday, August 13th at 3:30pm.

Other Useful Details

Internet: The hotel and conference center will have wireless Internet service for your use.

Food: Lunch will be provided on T/W/Th of the Institute week. Other meals will be your individual responsibility.

Airports: There are two airports that you can fly in to. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is in Phoenix and would have the most flights coming in around the world. This airport is very close to the hotel/meeting site. The other is Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, which has much more limited flights. 

 

There are numerous activities and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel, so car rental is completely optional and not necessary. 

Dress/Attire: Business Casual

Overview: The Summer Institute will be several days of lecture type presentations along with some hands on type of activities. Plan to be in session all day with a lunch break and small breaks between each lecture/activity. Each day will end around 5pm. Come prepared for a wealth of information and a great opportunity to meet others in the program and experts in the industry. We look forward to seeing you!

Online Portion: There will be an online component to the course as well. On the first day of the block, you'll need to log in to the class. There will be 5 weeks of online discussion and an assignment before the campus portion. Don't forget this important part!

Student Financial Responsibilities: Each student is responsible for the following things:

  • Tuition (3 credits)
  • Airfare and other transportation to get to Institute
  • Lodging 
  • Meals
