A.T. Still Library Staff Highlight - Hal Bright, Electronic Resources Librarian, Arizona Campus

Hal Bright is the Electronic Resources Librarian for both the Arizona and Missouri campuses -

After spending nearly fifteen years in Connecticut managing library technology projects in public libraries, I joined the A.T. Still Memorial Library staff in September 2012.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Arizona State University and my Master's degree in Library Sciences from the University of Arizona.  I traveled extensively in Latin America and East Asia during my university years.

My professional duties at ATSU include managing the library's online resources for both campuses including eJournals, eBooks and databases including the connectivity between citation databases like CINAHL, ERIC and PubMed and full text sources like ClinicalKey, EBSCO and ProQuest Pschology.

I was born on a windswept RAF base in England and followed my father's Air Force career from the redwoods of California to the Old Pueblo of Arizona, the hill country of Texas, the tidewater of Virginia and, finally, the metro Phoenix area where he started his post-military career.  I am the oldest in a large family who are fifth generation Arizonans. College and work took me to Bolivia and Japan and I finally settled in Connecticut for twelve years where I met my wife.  We moved here in the fall of 2012 and survived our first Valley of the Sun summer in 2013.  We really enjoy being close to both our families again.

I enjoy cooking with my family, baseball, travelling and playing with my son. I play the piano and sing in a choir. Reading is my favorite activity just after eating a good meal at home.
