Updates

Jean Sidwell, Missouri Branch Director and KCOM Liaison Librarian, discusses the latest happenings!

Missouri Branch Update:

Journal Display make-over at Missouri Branch:

The Missouri Branch Library is still in the process of weeding print books to make room for older journals.  This project is ongoing and at least half of the book shelves downstairs now provide space to house the older journals brought back from off-site storage at the Burdman Building.

During Orientation week Bill Coombs and Jean Sidwell highlighted BrowZine and the new Library Clinical App on the IPad for the 1st Year KCOM/MOSDOH/Bioscience student Orientation Fair.  We handed out information brochures, ATSU stickers, candy, and answered a lot of questions. Over 100 students stopped by the library table.

Jean Sidwell presented Library Resources Orientation for 8 Biomed Masters students.  The presentation took place in the Swafford Computer Lab entitled, “How to Navigate and Search Still OneSearch Library Webpage and Searching PubMed.”

The Missouri Branch Library received ten portable white boards with blue bag kits containing 3 white board markers, one eraser and cleaner.  The whiteboards can be checked out for one day by faculty and students.  We have 20 cardboard stand-up desks placed around the library.

A scheduled Kirksville Spark Tank reception to be held September 6th from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. will highlight the work of Seth McIntire and Shannon McAlister, who will report on the activities and results of the “3D Printing in the Curriculum,” grant project.
